We’re Hiring a Content Marketing Manager

Startup Angels is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to tell the story and vision of Startup Angels to the world.

The position requires someone that is fundamentally a good storyteller across all platforms – long blogs, short tweets, infographics, etc. You must be a strong writer that excels at translating complex concepts into accessible and engaging stories, articles, and copy.

You should be able to balance professional, financial, and community-oriented voices in your writing in order to relate to our audiences and have the ability to craft punchy headlines, emails and website copy. You should have a knack for picking the right medium to tell a story — whether that’s written, aural, or visual. You need to be able to surface the right stories and put them in the right places. If put to the challenge you could sell ice to Eskimos in a tweet. Of course, all this should be informed through quantitative measurements to gauge performance…always be optimizing.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5 years experience in marketing

  • Experience with business, economic, and tech media

  • Lead, represent, and champion innovation in startup investing in all forums

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization

  • A keen eye for design

  • Keen understanding of major trends in global entrepreneurship and startup investing

  • Polished written and verbal communication a must

  • Excellent writing skills in development of press kits, pitches, announcements, and other materials

  • Highly collaborative. Able to work cross functionally to identify opportunities, generate buy in, and execute on jointly defined action and project plans

  • Willingness to challenge the status quo to drive significant increases in high-margin, recurring revenue

  • A solid background in fundamental public relations activities including writing, media relations, pitching, and client servicing

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and focused

  • Driven – you have no problem picking up the phone and calling someone to get a response

  • Attuned to bleeding-edge tools and tech that can compound your marketing efforts, and a willingness to experiment with new tech as it emerges

  • Analytical skills – you’re able to work in spreadsheets or obnoxious CRMs like Salesforce

  • Quantified. You actively measure and interpret data to understand where stories pop, and know how to use that data to test your marketing experiments

  • Knowledge of Slideshare, podcasting, visual design softwares, icon and graphic development a plus
