We’re Hiring a Full-Time Writer

Startup Angels is looking for a talented writer who excels at translating complex concepts into accessible and engaging stories, articles, and copy.

This person should be able to balance professional, financial, and community-oriented voices in their writing in order to relate to our audiences. A fine grasp for cultural differences will be key, as content will examine different regions of the world. Ability to craft punchy headlines, emails and website copy is a plus.

Your target audience will revolve around the startup, financial, and general business sectors. Readers will include entrepreneurs, startup investors, wealth managers, financial advisors, and business leaders across a variety of industries. Content will vary, from short blog posts to 1000 to 5000+ word articles, from targeted media pitches and releases, to website copy and content. The goal of your writing will be to educate, inform and inspire, with a bottom-line goal of driving customers for Startup Angels.

Writing samples required (3-5 pieces that demonstrate your breadth and depth of writing).

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A robust vocabulary, with an ability to make it readable and accessible.

  • Interested in startups, entrepreneurs, investing, finance, and emerging business worldwide.

  • Drive to uncover and tell unique stories that inspire.

  • Self-motivated, ability to set and keep personal deadlines while working autonomously.

  • Ability to recognize when to publish a piece, when to kill a piece, etc.

  • Natural appreciation for quality vs. quantity, and a willingness to help Startup Angels set an editorial voice and direction.

  • An eye for potential stories.

  • Open to experimenting with content length, format, platforms, and beyond with an eye to analyzing and optimizing for readership.

  • Ready to thrive in fast-paced startup environment.
